Oh man. I love this: burrata with heirloom tomatoes, basil, prosciutto di parma (my FAV) and grilled olive ciabatta bread. It probably took me less than five minutes to put together this masterpiece. The creamy burrata, the sweetness of the tomatoes totally complemented by the light salty prosciutto…I can eat this everyday!! Loved the olive ciabatta bread from Forno Cultura. Delish!

To put this together, just drizzle olive oil over the tomatoes and burrata, scatter basil on it, and sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper. SO GOOD…a great summer dish!

WOW. Who knew that simple ingredients could create an amazing, solid pasta dish?!

Damn, this was so delicious that I couldn’t stop eating. All you need is pasta, some decent olive oil, fresh basil, garlic, really good cherry tomatoes and you’ve got yourself a perfect summer dish!! It’s a good thing I picked up a bunch of cherry tomatoes from the farmer’s market – man it really added nice sweetness, perfectly complemented with the olive oil (infused with garlic). The basil topped off at the end just adds another kick, an extra level that makes this taste so fresh!

It’s also so easy to whip up – you can do this pasta dish in 10 minutes, or even less! And I do love parmigiano cheese but you definitely don’t need it! Trust me, it will drown out the simple flavours.

Love this so much… I’m going to get fat and it’s not even winter yet!

THE HYPE IS REAL. Do yourself a favour and get your bums over to Adamson Barbecue ASAP. It’s hands down the most legit spot to get your BBQ fix in Toronto. The brisket, ribs and sausage were on another level of quality and flavor that I honestly didn’t feel like I was in Toronto. Don’t even think about hitting up Barque, Electric Mud, Carbon Bar and Aft Kitchen and Bar. Everything pales in comparison. I’ve also been to Slows BBQ (Detroit) and Smoque BBQ (Chicago) – Adamson Barbecue def beats those spots.

As soon as I stepped in the door, I knew it was going to be good – it smelled HEAVENLY inside! My boyfriend and I got there at 11:15am and there was already a line (so try and get there early). I know other people had trouble parking but it wasn’t bad at all because we just parked at Home Depot and walked over.

We got a meat platter of 1 pound brisket, 1 pound of ribs, two sausages, sides and two pieces of bread. Honestly I was so focused on eating that I didn’t even take photos of the inside of the restaurant, or more angles of food. Pictures really don’t do this justice though. Everything was perfection, from the fall of the bone ribs, to the soft and tender brisket and even the delish bratwurst. LOVED how the ribs and brisket were cooked, they were so damn juicy – really on another level above all the BBQ places I’ve tried. All meats were perfectly seasoned and complimented by a great bbq sauce that had a nice mix of of sweet, spicy and tangy. The coleslaw and beans that we got as sides were amazing as well. If only they had more sides like mac and cheese or cornbread (I’m getting greedy now)!

To top it off, the service was great and the people working there were very friendly! I do hope the lovely people at Adamson Barbeque will eventually change their hours so more people can try this dope place. I really wanted to visit this spot and made it a point to go on my day off. Will definitely visit again.

I’ll have to admit that I tried making Cuban Roast Pork last year and it didn’t turn out good. At all. As in, it was the only dish that I’ve EVER cooked which didn’t pass my expectations. The only reason why is because I cooked it for around 3-4 hours, when you should really bake it for 6-8 hours at a low temperature.

I cleared my schedule this past Saturday because I knew my Cuban feast was going to be a full day affair of cooking. On the menu was the roast, black beans and rice, and plantains.

After cooking the roast for around 7 hours I was STARVING. And it didn’t help at all that my house smelled like delicious roasted garlic with a nice citrus smell.

The verdict… Wow I couldn’t eat it fast enough. Seriously I took less than a handful of photos when I usually take a bunch because I was so excited to eat. The roast was TO DIE FOR, and the black beans and rice + plantain combo was amazing as well.

Make this at home, you won’t regret it!
